“Our goal is to make a useful humanoid robot as quick as possible,” the billionaire said to the audience. The robot made its debut during AI Day 2022, which is a day where Tesla show what they are up to for the past year.
Elon also showed what the robot is capable of such as picking up and delivering boxes, watering plants and lifting metal bars in a factory.
Elon said that they managed to build the robot in just six months, which is amazing considering what the robot is capable of currently.
He predicted that within three to five years, the general public will be able to buy Tesla’s robots. Tesla will continue to test the humanoid robots in factories doing basic duties like transporting components.
“It really is a fundamental transformation of civilization as we know it,” Elon said.
