Wan Zul, The Composer For ‘Suci Dalam Debu’ Song Passed Away

Che Wan Zulkifli Che Wan Abdul Ghani or better known as Wan Zul who is a composer and also an album producer passed away at Kemaman Hospital today. The 61-year-old man breathed his last breath in the Kemaman Hospital ward at 2.20 this morning.

According to his younger brother who is Che Wan Zuhaini, Wan Zul was admitted to Kemaman Hospital on the 2nd of October to undergo treatment for a bacterial infection in his lungs as a result of melioidosis.

He stated, “Initially, the deceased had a fever and cough before but it got worse until he had to rely on a breathing aid”. He also added, “his health level continued to decline until he had to be put to sleep on the 3rd of October”.

Wan Zul began his career as a composer by creating popular songs of the Iklim group such as Suci Dalam Debu, Selamat Tinggal Penderita, Alas Seribu Kali Sayang, and Biografia Cinta Luka. The song Suci Dalam Debu, which was included in the first album of the Iklim group called Satu Kesan Abadi, produced by Wan Zul, was once crowned second in Juara Lagu 1990.

In addition to the songs of the Iklim group, he is also the creator of other popular songs such as the song Hanya Satu Persinggahan (Ekamatra), Antara Sutra Dan Bulan (Damasutra), Kerana Takdir (Saleem), Itulah Cintaku (Ilusi), Dibadai Asmara (Sera), and Khazanah Dari Malaya (Ayati Tasrip).
