With Just Editing Video, This 24-Year-Old Malaysian Earns RM20K Per Month!

Everyone dreams of a high-paying job right? Who doesn’t want to have a lot of money. It can solve a lot of problems and help us enjoy the things that we want in life.

This Malaysian shares how she managed to changed her life as a freelance video editor.

Recently, Instagram page Malaysianpaygap posted this woman’s Direct Message (DM) of her sharing her salary of RM20K a month. Not only that, she also shares the pros and cons of her job and how she manages to achieve that goal.

For your information, the Malaysian woman works as a freelance video editor that works based according to US times.

“I came from a lower class family, so I couldn’t afford to continue my studies. Went straight to work so I could take care of my family. I’ve worked as a cabin crew before for both low cost and national airlines,” she stated in her DM.

“Decided to leave because there were more cons than pros. During Covid 2021, I started learning video editing while stuck at home. After 1 year I make more that I ever thought I could make, it really changed my mindset around money,” she continued.

She also explains on how she is able to find such a lucrative job. Firstly, she started learning how to use Adobe Premier Pro and learnt everything that she needed to know on YouTube.

The woman stated that it has a high-learning curve but it will be worth it in the end. Later on, she started to build connections on Facebook up until the point that she no longer needed to look for clients. Instead, the clients look for her.

She also listed all the pros and cons of her work which include:

Pros:

  • Work from home
  • No boss to order you around
  • Paid in USD
  • Great for introverts

Cons:

  • No EPF,SOCSO, Health insurance
  • Work US times from 9.30 p.m. to 5.30 a.m.
  • No paid leave.
