Working at Google is a dream come true for a lot of people. It is one of the most reputable companies in the world.

However, a job at Google is one of the hardest thing to get which Instagram user @advinroynetto can confirm. Recently, Netto posted a video on his Instagram which he surprises his mother and wife with the news of him getting a job at Google.

The video has amassed over 3 million views on Instagram and has over 220k ‘hearts’. In the video, the mother and wife can be seen happy reacting to the amazing news. Take a look at the video below:

In the video’s captions, Netto wrote on his journey on how he got the job at the giant company. He has tried to get a job at Google since 2013 and never failed to apply every year.

He wrote that every time he failed to hear from Google, he would see what was wrong on his portfolio and tried to improve on it. Netto wrote, “After a certain point, I thought I didn’t have a degree from a reputed design college, which could be one of the reasons.”

“I don’t have control over that, but I have control over improving my portfolio and resume. So after several failed attempts, here I am.”

Tips from Netto

Netto also gave some tips to those that wants to try and apply for a job at Google. Those tips are:

  • Keep trying and improvise.
  • To get into google, you don’t need a fancy degree. If you are good at what you do, you will win it.
  • When things aren’t happening in your favour, have patience and focus on the things you can control.
  • Google has to process 70k- 1L applications weekly, and only ~144 people will get the job. To get shortlisted, showcase your passion for what you do.
  • Ask for help and help others too. Review your portfolio, do a mock interview. Ask for referrals.
