Dave Bautista Shows Netflix Why He Is The Best For Gears of War Film

Former WWE superstar and Guardians of the Galaxy actor Dave Bautista has shown his interest in starring in the Gears of War film.

Netflix has greenlit to make a live-action film and an animated series based on the Gears of War video game franchise. Since their announcement, Bautista has said that he wants to portray Marcus Fenix, who is a Gears of War protagonist.

The former World Heavyweight Champion uploaded a video of himself on Twitter, including him donning the COG gear. Bautista uploaded the video with the caption “I can’t make this any easier”. Check the video out below:

Not only that, the game’s creator Cliff Bleszinski also said that Bautista is right for the role. He replied to Bautista’s video saying “Brother, as the designer of 1 2 and 3 you’re my first choice”.

In another tweet, after Netflix announced the film, Bleszinski also tweeted “Oh and yes, Bautista as Marcus please – and a Latino actor for Dom, dammit.”

Bautista really looks the part. He has the same features as the character Marcus Fenix. Not only that, his beefy body is already suited to play the character.

Bautista has been eyeing for years for a part in a Gears of War movie, and he has received a lot of fan support. The video he posted was actually a trailer for a Gears of War 5 downloadable content pack that put players in the role of a resurrected Marcus Fenix modelled after Bautista.

Fans’ calls for a movie starring Bautista and with Netflix developing a live-action adaptation, that may soon become a reality.
