Toblerone is a popular brand of chocolate bars that originate from Switzerland. They are known for their triangular shape chocolates and letter engraving.
However, did you know that there is a secret symbol on the Toblerone packaging? Yes, that’s right! There is actually a picture of a bear on the mountains of the packaging!
A Twitter user shared this discovery on her Twitter. The user tweeted “My son had his first Toblerone today. “What’s the bear for?” Me: “what bear?”
“I was today years old when I found out there’s a bear in the Toblerone logo,” she continued. If you look closely at the image of the mountains, you can clearly see a picture of bear standing on its hind legs.

Theodor Tobler created the Swiss chocolate design, who is also the founder of the Tobler chocolate factory. He came up with the distinctive triangular shape and packaging.
People thought that the Matterhorn in the Swiss/Italian Alps is the inspiration for the triangular design of the Toblerone bar. However, Theodors’ sons claim that the triangle design was inspired by a pyramidal formation performed by dancers at the Folies Bergères.
Moreover, you can also see the Matterhorn which is on the Toblerone box. This is where you can find the image of the bear.
The bear is actually a symbol for the city of Bern, Switzerland which is where the chocolate originates from. Bern is also known as the city of bears.
