Election Day is approaching, but are you positive for COVID-19? The situation is unpredictable and uncontrollable. Malaysians are aware of the obligation to vote on November 19. Folks must already plan their trip back to their hometown to fulfill the obligation once every five years.
However, some of us may have overlooked it by not routinely doing saliva tests before returning to our hometowns since COVID-19 has become endemic. The number of COVID-19 cases is rising. By the time you reach your hometown, you are positive for COVID-19. So how do you want to go to vote?
Don’t be upset! You can still attend Election Day by following the Standard of Procedure (SOP) announced by the Kedah State Health Department’s Promotion Unit @wellnessonwheel_kedah on TikTok.
Simple steps before going out for Election Day
- Wearing a mask
- Sanitize the hands
- Avoid chatting with another person
- Avoid shaking hands and randomly touching other people
- Check the channel and voting turn number
- Be present on Election Day at 4-6 pm
- Bring your pen and pencil
- Strictly going back home after finishing your voting session
The SOP above is specific to covid patients who are not critical. The Ministry of Health allows covid-positive patients to go out to vote but with strict SOP. Make sure you follow all the instructions before going out to vote. Happy voting!
