Today, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) received some ICT equipment, through the Criminal Investigation Department. The Homeland Security Investigation (HSI) granted the equipment as a donation.
Mr. Craig Dickhaus, the HSI agent, bestowed the donation to CP Dato’ Sri Abd Jalil Hassan, the director of the Criminal Investigation Department. The ceremony was located at the Child Interview Centre, Bukit Aman. Collaborating with International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Agency (INL), HSI granted the donation as support to prevent crimes. The equipment could help in dealing with online sexual exploitation crimes against children, especially the offense of ‘Online Child Pornography.’
Upon receiving the donation, Dato’ Sri Abd Jalil said in his speech that PDRM would always be ready for any crimes. He added that these days, crimes could spread easily and some are executed on the Internet. The consequences of these crimes could traumatize the victim for a long time.
“It is our responsibility to prevent crimes, especially those which involve children. We will try our best to make our place a safer place.”
Aside from that, Dato’ Sri Abdul Jalil also showed his appreciation towards HSI and INL for their endless support of PDRM.
Some of the equipment that HSI granted are Logitech Group Video Conferencing System and Expansion Microphone. Besides that, PDRM also received an Apple 12.9-inch Ipad Pro, and GoPro Hero 9. This equipment would help in preventing crimes that are happening in Malaysia.
