Recently, there is a viral video on the social media platform of a road bullying case at Jalan Raja Musa Aziz, Ipoh, Perak.

Statement from Ipoh Police

On November 7, 2022, the Ipoh district police discovered a viral video on social media through the WhatsApp application. The video showed two men fighting on the road in Ipoh, Perak. For information, the police have received one police report from the victim involved in the fighting incident. They also received one road accident report from a driver involved in a road accident with the suspect’s car.

From the preliminary investigation by the police, they found that the incident happened on November 7, 2022, at approximately 6:07 pm on Raja Musa Aziz road. It was when a Honda City-type car driven by a local man crashed into a Toyota Camry car driven by a 52-year-old local woman. The driver of the Toyota Camry sustained no injuries. The police believed the cause of the incident to be due to the driver of the Honda City car having driven on the road against traffic.

At the same time, there were concerned public people who witnessed the road accident. They helped the victims but the Honda City car driver disasstisfied with remarks from the public. It was because the public said he was the one who caused the road accident. The suspect also attacked one of the public people present at the scene. Both police reports on the incident are investigated under Section 353 of the Penal Code and Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Police have arrested the suspect

Quick investigation action by the police has succeeded in arresting the suspect. They arrested the Honda City car driver, a 47-years-old man at a location on Jalan Lahat, Ipoh on November 8, 2022, at approximately 12:10 pm. The suspect will be taken to the Ipoh magistrate’s court on November 9, 2022, for remaned detention.

Therefore, the police advise the public to always practice a good attitude and be cautious while driving on the road. The police also advise the public to obey the traffic rules to ensure the safety of all road users.
