The second generation of K-pop groups will always remain untouchable, and KARA’s appearance at MAMA 2022 proves they still got the spark in them!
Aside from a star-studded line-up for the first day of the prestigious award show, KARA steals the spotlight immediately with its appearance. Also, it’s to commemorate their 15th anniversary since debut!
Do you know KARA?
Fans of the second-generation groups might know who KARA is. However, if you’re a new K-pop stan, you might wonder who are they?
Well, KARA is a group consisting of the original line-up: Sunghee, Nicole, Gyuri and Seungyeon. But, throughout the years, the group experienced multiple changes in their line-up.
Debuted in 2007 under DSP Media, KARA joined the line-up of well-known groups that debuted in the same year, like Girls Generation and Wonder Girls.
In 2014, members Nicole and Jiyoung left the group due to the expiration of their contract. And sadly, KARA announced its disbandment on 14 January 2016. Another heartbreaking news was member Goo Hara passed away in 2019. Our deepest condolences to her family and all her loved ones.
WHEN I MOVE marks a new era for them
But, good news for Kamilia (KARA’s fandom name)! They came back for their 15th-anniversary album with the classy WHEN I MOVE after a long, torturous wait yesterday!
What’s more exciting is members Jiyoung and Nicole participated in composing and writing the lyrics of the group’s title track!
“MAMA 2022 is all about KARA. Periodt.”
KARA came with a bang yesterday for their ground-breaking performance on the first day of MAMA 2022!
They performed their newest song WHEN I MOVE, and some of their hits, Lupin, STEP and Mr.
After their performance ends, fans around the world can’t get enough of them!
Fans are genuinely overcome by emotions after seeing them on stage again. They didn’t know this day would ever come, but it did!
