Malaysian Game Studio Recently Launched Horror Game ‘Malice’

Keeping up with the spooky spirit of Halloween, Nimbus Games, an indie game developer from Malaysia, recently launched a horror game, Malice, on 3rd November.

It’s a delightful surprise to know that this cooperative puzzle horror game is created by Malaysian developers.

On their motto, “passionate about the uncanny, weird and unsettling,” Nimbus Games developed Malice that fits well with the mould.

About Malice

The game is a two-player, more like an escape room-style exploration puzzle game with a Japanese horror theme twist.

Players will play a pair of modern-day travelers visiting a fictional temple in Japan. The game further spikes anxiety as an earthquake happens, thus plunging the players into a dark and mysterious mansion.

They must go through many obstacles to survive the madness. However, there’s more than meets the eye— a mysterious creature lurks around every corridor and room. And these creatures don’t want you to survive.

Nimbus Games categorizes Malice into different parts:

An escape-room style

Puzzles in this game consist of logical, lateral, decryption, navigational and old-fashioned mazes fit for two players.

Self-immersive atmosphere

Malice emphasizes the ambiance to invoke feelings of terror and audio that’ll definitely immerse you into the game world.

Nimbus Games incorporates hints of realism in their styling. This will heighten the uncanniness and fantastical vibe of the game. They aim to make you ponder whether your journey through the underground temple is a dream or a nightmare.

Distinct story and lore

Unlike other games, Malice traverses many eras. However, the two players are placed in the middle of the story. And it gets more confusing because of this.

Three challenging chapters

Each act is worth one hour of gameplay and puzzle. The game setting will be during the ancient Edo period. Malice will take you on a journey through different locations. Yet, the game ends at an unexpected place where more questions arise.

Malice is now available in Malaysia for PC through Steam, Playcoin, SEAGM and OFFGAMERS.
