Woman Panicked When Landslide Occur Early In The Morning

Ampang Fire and Rescue Department received a report from a woman due to an emergency early in the morning. At 2:26 a.m, Mrs. Nur Shaziella binti Aziz made a call reporting that there has been a landslide at the back of her home.

The landslide occurred at the back of Mrs. Shaziella’s five-storey bungalow. It happened due to the soil and rocks fell from the hill slope. The circumstances can be seen when the wall of the kitchen of the bungalow collapsed and was destroyed. The kitchen was on the first level of the house. While in the second level, a 10′ X 10′ KP bedroom also collapsed.

The collision of the bungalow due to the landslide is estimated to be 35′ X 20′ KP. It is fortunate that none of the landslide’s aftermath involved people’s life.

The actions that were taken by the Operational Commander included checking on every level of the bungalow to make sure all of the people inside went to a safer place. Besides that, the Operational Commander also checked on the ground movement and blocked the landslide area from people, that morning.

The next actions were given to the Slope Unit of Ampang Jaya Municipal Council for further investigation.

It is hoped for all people to always be careful during this rainy day as it could cause landslides.
