Céline Dion Is Diagnosed With A Neurological Disorder, Won’t Perform Until Full Recovery

Céline Dion is still one of the most iconic performers in the world. With her glorious voice and stellar performance, Dion has been a fan favourite for many generations. Even today, she’s loved by many regardless of age. The singer of My Heart Will Go On (1997) is one of the million stars that are still gorgeously glimmering.

However, her disappearance and silence from the entertainment industry become a question mark with no answers. Everyone has their speculations, but yesterday, the truth was finally out of the bag.

“It was really difficult for me to face these challenges”

Heartbreakingly, Dion announced that she has been struggling with a neurological disorder named stiff person syndrome through her Instagram post.

Unbeknownst to many, she dealt with problems with her health for a long time. It makes it difficult for her to overcome these obstacles as she couldn’t disclose anything publicly. Dion is an open book, but her condition prohibits her from making things clear for all.

According to Dion, she now knows the reason behind the spasms she experienced previously. This syndrome makes it hard for her to walk, talk, sing and perform. It affects only one in a million people, as it’s rare and still a mystery today.

Céline Dion is working hard to recover

Despite not getting to continue her Spring 2023 shows starting this February, Dion is optimistic about recovering before she can meet everyone again on stage.

Dion assures that she’s now focusing on her health, and fans don’t have to worry. She has a team of experts to accompany her in this recuperating journey. Moreover, she diligently works with her sports medicine therapist to build strength.

She misses everyone so much

Throughout the video, Dion repeatedly expresses her longing to all fans. Additionally, as an experienced performer, she’s missing the thrill of standing on the stage again.

Unfortunately, she has to bury the thought of performing to give her utmost focus to recovering. Yet, she finds strength in her precious children and the fans rooting for her.

Dion tearfully said, “I’ll always give a 100% when I do my shows, but my condition won’t allow me to give you that right now.”

Tours to be postponed to 2024

Her condition stunts her plans for the Europe tour starting February 2023. But once she gets better, she might resume her shows in 2024.

We hope this shining star, Céline Dion, will be strong to face all hurdles that await. May her recovery journey ends on a beautiful note. Our hearts will always go on for you!
