Therefore, the Central Bank of Argentina believes that Messi deserves to be awarded something big. What is it? Drum roll, please!
They are considering putting Messi’s face on the 1000 pesos! Well, isn’t that so cool?

But why it’s on the 1000 peso note, you might ask? Since Messi’s jersey number is 10, people are speculating it will be the perfect choice to commemorate the player’s iconic number on his bank note!
Additionally, rumours are lingering in the air that the note should be named La Scaloneta. It is the name Lionel Scaloni, Argentina’s coach, calls the player.

We can’t put our hopes that high yet. According to El Financiero, they just jokingly came up with the idea of putting Messi on the banknote.
Yet, the director, Eduardo Hecker and Lisandro Cleri didn’t deny it would lift the spirit of Argentinians to see their hero on the 1000 peso note.
Hence, we could safely assume that if this is true, many people would want to have their hands on the Lionel Messi 1000 peso note!
