It’s a bit ironic that the Minister talked about digital security standards 12 years prior to today. As we know, Fahmi’s manifesto after being appointed as the minister of Communications and Multimedia is to tackle cybersecurity, data leaks and scams happening widely in cyberspace these days.
It seems Fahmi’s taking a leap into his position to provide a safer media experience to Malaysian users.
Fahmi Fadzil is more than just a minister
Aside from being the spokesperson of MyCC (Malaysian Common Criteria Evaluation and Certification) 12 years ago, Fahmi was also a writer, actor and theatre performer!
He co-wrote Gol dan Gincu the series (Season 1) and landed a minor role in Gol dan Gincu the series (Season 2). Not only that, but Fahmi was also a theatre performer!
Aside from that, Fahmi also starred in a 2019 Malaysian documentary film, M for Malaysia, along with other politicians. Fahmi also acted in the experimental project Tokyo Magic Hour (2005) with stars like Namron.
Another interesting piece of information about the minister is he’s a chemical engineering graduate from Purdue University, Indiana, USA!
The Minister warns Malaysians to be careful of scammers
There’s a worrying rise in scam cases in Malaysia these days, as having easy access to people’s personal data gives an advantage to these scammers.
In his Facebook post, Fahmi shared that he was added to a scam group on Whatsapp!
Therefore, he advised the public to take immediate action by contacting 997 to file a report.
Wow! The Communication and Multimedia minister sure has many hidden talents! We hope he will carry out his duties responsibly!
