JMG Lists High Risk Areas For Landslides Around Malaysia

According to Jabatan Mineral Dan Geosains Malaysia (JMG), there is a total of 7305 accidents due to landslides in 61 years. From the year of 1961 until 2022, landslides are one of the natural disasters that happen in Malaysia aside from floods.

Malaysia is still mourning and grieving the tragedy in Batang Kali. The massive landslides have caused more than 20 deaths. Until this day, the process of finding other victims of the landslides is still ongoing.

Malaysia is currently having a monsoon season. Thus, the weather is damp, and there is a chance for landslides to occur. Therefore, to adventurers and travellers out there, do make sure to always prioritize your safety.

JMG warns Malaysians about the areas that are at high risk for landslides.

6) Jalan Tapah – Cameron Higlands
7) Lojing – Gua Musang
8) Cameron Highlands

10) Jalan Kuala Kubu – Raub
11) Sungai Buluh
12) Lebuhraya KL – Karak
13) Bukit Antarabangsa
14) Genting Peras
15) Seremban
16) Jalan Seremban – Simpang Pertang
17) Jalan Rembau – Johol
18) Bukit Katil
19) Gunung Pulai
20) Temerloh
21) Kuala Lipis
22) Felda Aring – Kenyir – Kuala Berang
23) Tanah Merah
24) Marang
25) Dungun
26) Kota Kinabalu
27) Kundasang
28) Sandakan
29) Miri
30) Kapit
31) Bau
