Malaysians hope popular ‘Karen’ restaurants do not open in Malaysia? All over the Internet, locals and travelers surely know about a well-known ‘Karen’ chain restaurant. From their sharing, we can see that the staff who work at the restaurant are portraying the character of a ‘Karen’.

Actually, what is a Karen? According to BBC News, Karen is associated with a person who is demanding to speak to the manager because something is not right in their eyes. A Karen is also someone who belittles other people and insults them.

As what has been mentioned earlier, all the workers at the restaurant are acting like Karen.

Imagine this, you go to a restaurant to have a meal, with an extra package of the workers insulting you. What do you think of that? Is it fun, or…?

Recently, the well-known restaurant open its new franchise in Jakarta, Indonesia. But, many tweets by Malaysians from Twitter hope that Malaysia will not have the same restaurant. According to one of the tweets, the culture of the restaurant is not suitable to be shown, even if it is just for fun.

Many people on Twitter also feel the same way about the restaurant. Instead of opening a restaurant where their staffs are being rude, a Twitter user has a better idea.

She proposes for our country to have a restaurant where the staffs speak the classical Malay language. Just like in the old times.

It is actually not a bad idea. From that, we can enhance our Malay language!

Not just that, even an Indonesian does not agree with the restaurant opening in her country. For her, the culture of the restaurant does not fit the culture in Indonesia.
