Malaysia’s Flag Was Seen With Israel’s Flag, PDRM Furthers Investigation

There’s a viral video circulating everywhere that Malaysia‘s national flag, Jalur Gemilang, was seen with Israel’s national flag. Additionally, the national anthem, Negaraku, was also played there!

The video confuses many Malaysians. It also invokes disappointment as it’s a sensitive issue. Furthermore, many also express that it shouldn’t be shared as it could spread negativity amongst the public

PDRM is quick to address and release an official statement regarding this concern in a Facebook post.

On 29 November 2022, around 11.20 pm, Polis Daerah Petaling Jaya received a report from an unnamed man. The man spoke of the 47 seconds video he saw in the Whatsapp group, where Negaraku was sung by a few individuals. Not only that but Jalur Gemilang was also raised with Israel’s national flag.

In their early investigation, the incident happened in September 2022. A group of locals were visiting an undisclosed location with their travel agency.

A report is issued, and the case is investigated under the Seksyen 8 Akta Lagu Kebangsaan 1968 and Seksyen 233 Akta Komunikasi dan Multimedia 1988.

PDRM advises the public not to further spread misinformation on any platform. It is to avoid speculation and provocation that could affect the investigation and the public’s safety.
