Messi will continue playing for Argentina

As reported by ESPN, Messi won’t retire from the international team after scoring two goals in the last FIFA World Cup match against France last night. It was the most exciting and nerve-wracking penalty everyone had ever witnessed!

Victoriously, the Argentinian forward scored the first goal from the penalty at the Lusail Stadium in Doha. Afterwards, he struck France’s goal in turmoil during the added time when the ball fell to him in the six-yard box. It was the moment when Argentina knew they would bag this year’s World Cup trophy once and for all.

However, France’s forward Mbappe made a clean hat trick with penalty minutes forward. Yet, Argentina won 4-2 and marked their third World Cup title, previously won in 1978 and 1986.

Champions of the world

He shared a thank-you post on his Facebook to commemorate this memorable day.

Messi said, “I dreamed of [the World Cup title] so many times. I wanted it so much. And now I get it: I can’t believe it.”

He thanked his family and everyone who believed and supported the team. Additionally, he also said their victory was because of everyone’s hard work and understanding. Their spirit to fight for the title didn’t falter despite their many obstacles.

It’s good news that Messi, one of the legendary football players, will continue to play for his country in the upcoming World Cup. We hope to see him again soon!

Congratulations to Argentina for the well-deserved win!
