While on a mission to fight a fire that broke out at Jalan Henderson, Bukit Merah, Singapore, a firefighter lost his life. On the morning of the 8th of December, a fire occurred at a housing unit on the fourth level. This incident forced the National Serviceman (NSF) with the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDC) to take action.
According to Mothership, the fire was raging inside, and the dark smoke started to linger out of the corridor. Firefighters had to don breathing apparatus, and they applied two water jets to fight the raging fire. While on their mission, one of the firefighters became unconscious in the kitchen area.
Shocked by what happened, other firefighters have to take him out of the unit and performed cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on him.

However, he could not make it and he was pronounced that at the hospital.
Fellow firefighters are saddened by his passing. SCDF lost a hero. They offer their deepest condolences to his family. The report stated that the firefighter was the first who alerted the crew about the fire outbreak. SCDF mentioned, he was “bravely carrying out his mission of protecting and saving lives and property.”
