Today marks another historic day for Sheng Tai International with the Launch of The Sail Experiential Centre and the Completion of Phase One of The Sail Project by Sheng Tai International’s Chairman and Group President, Dato’ Leong Sir Ley. In conjunction with the launch, there was also a gala dinner organized – called Sheng Tai Night which was attended by Yang Berhormat Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Minister of International Trade & Industry, who will also officiate the International Fireworks Display Show by Sheng Tai International.

The completion of The Sail Melaka’s Phase One consists of a three (3) story building that is The Sail Experiential Centre and a row of 26 retail units which have been fully tenanted by Japanese business owners and are scheduled to open for business beginning Q1 2023. The Phase One project also comprises the LSL Ballroom and Sheng Yan Restaurant. The total GDV for The Sail is estimated at RM6.5 billion.

The Sail is uniquely designed with the Globalization concept in mind and it is a master plan with 9 Towers joining with a Unity Sky Ring on top of each building and a 460m length of swimming pool linking all 9 towers. The Sail is a mixed-use development on a 27.5-acre land. The Sail, once completed, will complement Melaka’s residential, retail, commercial, and hospitality markets. The 9 Towers consist of a 6-star Hotel & Fashion Tower, Wellness Tower, Cultural Tower, AI Tower, M Tower, Condotels & Business Suites.

The conception of The Sail signifies an enthusiastic start to improve, exchange, and strengthen the bonds among nations with regard to culture and economy. This initiative is in line with Malaysia’s economy is on a strong footing to attract quality investments.

“After three years of living under a worldwide pandemic, when the lockdown was lifted, I recognized that there emerged a ‘new language’ that revolved around initiatives such as wellness, art and culture, fashion, and artificial intelligence (AI).”

It inspired me to gather international business owners from around the world, who through these initiatives, would come to The Sail and help us start new businesses, create job opportunities, facilitate the import of talent into the city and showcase Melaka on the international stage,” explains Dato’ Leong.

“Our aspiration is to make The Sail Melaka into a catalyst of change for the historical city in terms of further catapulting its name to the world arena by making it into a melting pot through Art & Culture, Fashion, Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Wellness.

This will definitely boost the state’s economy and create a lot of job opportunities as well as bring in hordes of investors from all over the world. Furthermore, adding more reasons, and rooms, for tourists to visit Melaka, said.

Dato’ Leong’s vision is to gather people all around the world to Sail Melaka through her initiatives in Art & Culture, Fashion, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Wellness for The Sail’s properties at the Straits of Melaka. This event’s objectives are in line with Dato’ Leong’s vision where it has brought in business owners from over 15 countries to meet at The Sail Melaka for business creation, and business deals and as well as encouraging business migration from overseas into the country. This will help boost the economy and bring Foreign Direct Investments and business to Melaka and the country on the whole.

Dato’ Leong also shows her appreciation to the Melaka State Government as Sheng Tai’s achievements would not have been possible without the support of the State Government. The STI team looks forward to working closely with the State Government in rolling out new initiatives in the future, which they hope will attract even more investors and visitors to this historic state.
