Sheila Majid’s Songs Once Played In Japan’s Nissan Advertisement!

Nissan is one of the most used car brands in Malaysia. Wherever you go, you will see this brand on the road. There’s Sunny, Skyline, Sentra, Grand Livina, Almera, and more. Japan established Nissan in 1933. Nevertheless, until now, the brand keeps on making new car models.

Have you seen any of Nissan‘s advertisements? Maybe you have. But I am sure a few of you have seen Japan’s version of the Nissan advertisement.

Interestingly, Dato’ Sheila Majid’s songs were being played in the advertisements. According to @wapcar_zamil, two songs of Dato’ Sheila were being played in two advertisements. The advertisements were to introduce Nissan‘s new model — Nissan Skyline R32. Check out the video below:

In the video, @wapcar_zamil stated that Japanese love Dato’ Sheila’s songs. She was the first Malaysian to gain popularity in Japan in 1989. In the same year, Nissan just launched the Skyline model. Meanwhile, the legendary singer released her second album.

When you watched @wapcar_zamil’s video above, did you notice the songs? Yes! It’s Bila Larut Malam and Dimanakan Kucari Ganti. The songs were P. Ramlee’s and Dato’ Sheila sang the songs as covers. A good choice for the advertisements!

We, as Malaysians should be proud that Japan used our national language for its advertisements.
