It seems like many Malaysians are excited about the brand-new Perodua Axia. Photos of the car models have been released. Nevertheless, for now, Malaysians can only see the upper part of the Axia as the lower part of the car is still ‘wrapped.’ But..I believe many can already imagine how will it look like, right?
The model is from Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA). Yes, it is the same as Perodua Ativa and the 2022 Alza.
As shared on Twitter, @paultantk and the team were given the chance to drive the brand-new Axia. According to the video:
We got to drive the 2023 Perodua Axia a short while earlier today. What did we think of it?

- The engine of the model is still the same as the previous model — 1KR-VE 1.0 liter three-cylinder, naturally aspirated engine.
- Horsepower: 67 hp.
- Torque: 91 Nm.
- The sound level the model makes when you drive it is about the same (slightly lesser) as the previous model. But still impressive!
- Still sounds a bit rough, but the good news is you will not feel much vibration.
- Dual Mode CVT (D-CVT).
- May cost more or less RM40-50k.
- Quite affordable, and when you drive it, it feels like you are driving a high-quality car, despite the price.
That is a good review from @paultantk. Want to know more about the brand-new Axia? Read here https://www.perodua.com.my/the-all-new-axia.html.
