Netizens Have Different Opinions On A Mythical Creature Photo Shared By Mexican Prime Minister

The President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López, has taken to the Internet after sharing a photo of what is believed to be a mythical creature. He also shared another photo as proof of the existence of the mischievous Mayan spirits called the ‘alux.’ It is a picture of a sculpture at an archaeological site on the Yucatan peninsula.

He wrote in the post, “Everything is mystical.”

What is an ‘alux?’

An alux is a small and mischievous creature that inhabits forests and fields. It likes to play tricks on people and hides things.

The photo shared by the Mexican President shows an entity captured by a camera in the dark. It sits on a tree, and its eyes are glowing, looking straight at the camera.

The photo of the mythical entity was said to be taken last week by an engineer at the construction site in the Yucatán Peninsula. However, netizens say that the same photo has circulated on the Internet in 2021. The same picture has gone viral in Thailand and Indonesia.

Some netizens have their own opinions about what kind of creature is in the photo.
