“I Just Won An Oscar!” Jamie Lee Curtis Got Her First Oscar After 45 Years

Actress, producer and writer Jamie Lee Curtis won her first ever Oscars! The Everything Everywhere All at Once co-star Jamie swept the Best Supporting Actress through the 95th Academy Awards today, defeating top nominees like Angela Basset (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever) and Kerry Condon (The Banshees of Inisherin).

Jamie was stunned after the announcement of the category. She went on stage and took the trophy while saying, “We just won an Oscar together!”

She made her first debut in the first instalment of Halloween. 45 years later, she became the executive producer of the last Halloween movie.

Additionally, Jamie Lee Curtis broke the barriers with her stunning performance in Trading Places and True Lies. She had been to the prestigious award ceremony as the presenter. However, this year’s Oscars marked her first attendance as a nominee.

The 64-year-old actress thanked everyone who supported “the genre of films” she has been doing for the past years. Jamie sent her warmest gratitude to the team of Everything Everywhere All at Once; the Daniels, Jonathan, Ley Line Entertainment, her bae Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, Stephanie Hsu and everyone who participated in the making of this movie.

Humbly, Jamie said there were thousands of people behind her, and this Oscar was for them.

Furthermore, Jamie tearily thanked her family for being her backbone. She ended the speech by sending her gratitude to her parents, Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, both Oscar-nominated but never won. They opened the doors of opportunity to Jamie, and she is forever thankful.

Congratulations to Jamie for her first-ever Oscar. May there’ll be more to come!
