Tesla

Tesla has announced today that the all-new electric SUV, Model Y, is making its debut in Malaysia. The public can now experience the Model Y for the first time at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur from today until 31st October. All trims of Model Y (Model Y Rear-wheel drive, Long Range, and Performance) will be displayed at Pavilion, starting this Thursday for public viewing and ordering.

Model Y is the newest, most affordable electric SUV. Designed and built as Tesla’s first mass-market sports utility electric vehicle, it represents a critical step in Tesla’s mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy, as outlined in the original Secret Tesla Master Plan.

The all-new Model Y boasts 2.1 cubic meters of cargo space, providing versatile seating and storage for up to 5 passengers with their belongings

Like every Tesla vehicle, Model Y combines range, performance, safety, and technology. Being a mid-size SUV, Model Y offers 2.1 cubic meters of cargo space, providing versatile seating and storage for up to 5 passengers with their belongings. With ultra-responsive motors, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds, boasting a range of up to 533 km (WLTP). Starting at RM199,000, Model Y will begin delivery to Malaysian customers in early 2024.

Tesla is committed and excited to help drive a zero emission and greener future for Malaysia. As part of Tesla’s commitment to Malaysia, the company has unveiled a comprehensive development plan for experience centres, service and support, as well as charging infrastructure in the country, aimed at delivering a seamless Tesla ownership experience.

Tesla designs, manufactures, deploys, owns and operates the world’s largest fast charging network. The first indoor Supercharger Station with a total of 8 Superchargers at Pavilion KL will be open soon. Tesla’s plan includes opening multiple Supercharging stations at strategic locations to cover popular destinations across the country. With Tesla Supercharging, Model Y, operating at peak efficiency of 250 kW, can charge up to 120 km in just 5 minutes which further solidifies its commitment to enabling convenient and efficient cross-country travel for Tesla vehicles in the region.

In line with Malaysia’s goal to promote low-carbon mobility and support the EV industry, Tesla customers will enjoy full import and excise duties exemption for newly registered zero-emission Tesla electric vehicles. Additionally, customers can benefit from 100% road tax exemption and individual income tax relief of up to RM2,500 on expenses related to EV charging facilities for the assessment year of 2023.
