Supply Chain Forum

Today, Malaysia welcomes the Boeing-NAICO Aerospace Supply Chain Forum, a groundbreaking event officiated by YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, marking a significant milestone in the partnership between The Boeing Company and the National Aerospace Industry Corporation Malaysia (NAICO).

The Boeing-NAICO Aerospace Supply Chain Forum stands as a testament to a remarkable collaboration, one that fuses the expertise of Boeing, a name synonymous with cutting-edge aerospace technology, with the forward-looking aspirations of Malaysia’s aerospace industry. This partnership represents a commitment to innovation, growth, and progress within the aerospace sector, directly aligning with the four key missions outlined in the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030):

  • Advancing Economic Complexity: By leveraging Boeing’s extensive supply chain and expertise, this collaboration aims to propel Malaysia’s aerospace industry into higher value-added activities, contributing to economic complexity and bolstering the manufacturing export sector.
  • Embracing Technology for a Digitally Vibrant Nation: Through this partnership, Malaysia is accelerating its technology adoption and fostering innovation, in line with the mission to create a digitally vibrant nation and stimulate the government’s digitalization drive.
  • Striving for Net Zero Emissions: Both organisations are committed to sustainable practices, focusing on renewable energy, electric vehicles, and a circular economywithin the aerospace industry, echoing the mission to achieve net zero emissions and sustainable development.
  • Ensuring Economic Security and Inclusivity: By fostering collaborations and integrating within global value chains, this initiative enhances Malaysia’s economic security and inclusivity, as emphasized in NIMP 2030, by fortifying local supply chains and industrial clusters, contributing to greater domestic investments.

Boeing’s decision to choose Malaysia as the venue for this Supply Chain Forum underscores the strategic importance of Malaysia within the global aerospace landscape. It highlights the growing confidence in Malaysia’s capabilities and the shared commitment of both Boeing and the Malaysian Aerospace Industry, led by NAICO, to forge new partnerships and explore new horizons together.

With NIMP 2030 in place, Malaysia is poised to become a global hub for aerospace manufacturing and services. This forum covers a wide range of topics, including Boeing’s Supply Chain Footprint in Malaysia, Strategy Overview, Incentives for Supplier Investment, Supply Chain Technology, and Research and Development. The goal is to align these discussions with the missions outlined in NIMP 2030, guiding the aerospace industry toward a more promising and prosperous future.

Boeing and NAICO look forward to the exciting possibilities that this partnership will bring to both organisations and the aerospace industry. Together, they aim to advance the aerospace sector, foster innovation, and contribute to the growth and development of Malaysia’s economy.
