AllStar Sports Unveils ‘Battle Of The Reds’ Players Line-Up And Championship Trophy

AllStar Sports Sdn Bhd (AllStar Sports) in collaboration with World Football Legends (WFL) and ACO Media unveiled the official players’ lineup featuring iconic legends from Manchester Reds and Liverpool Reds, along with the championship trophy, today. 

The event was graced by YBhg. Dato’ Roslan Tan Sri Abdul Rahman, Secretary-General of Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture. Also present were H.E Ailsa Terry C.M.G, British High Commissioner to Malaysia and En. Azman Haji Tambi Chik, Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB).

En. Azman Fahmi, Executive Project Director of Battle of the Reds, AllStar Sports expressed excitement about the players’ lineup, which features iconic players representing both teams. Some of these players are renowned for their goalscoring feats, and are World Cup champions.

“The excitement is building with most players present today ahead of the match day. Fans are eagerly anticipating the showdown between the two teams, and our tickets are selling fast with the tremendous demand for this match,” he said.

The players’ lineup for Manchester Reds includes manager Dwight Yorke, alongside players David May, Wes Brown, Clayton Blackmore, Keith Gillespie, Ben Thornley, Eric Djemba Djemba, Paul Rachubka, Russell Beardsmore, Lee Martin, Danny Webber, Mikael Silvestre, Quinton Fortune, Dimitar Berbatov, Erik Nevland, and Dion Dublin, with Teddy Sheringham leading as captain.

For the Liverpool Reds, manager David James leads players Emile Heskey, Glen Johnson, John Arne Riise, Patrik Berger, Vladimir Smicer, Steve McManaman, Jason McAteer, Florent Sinama, John Durnin, David Thompson, Jermaine Pennant, Djibril Cisse, and Phil Babb, with Luis Garcia as captain.

The event also unveiled the Championship Trophy, which is meticulously crafted from fine pewter. Regardless of the game’s outcome, pewter plates will be awarded to all participants of the match for their good sportsmanship. These prizes symbolise not only victory on the field but also embodies the spirit of excellence that both the Manchester Reds and Liverpool Reds strive to uphold.

‘Battle of the Reds’ is supported by the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), an agency under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Perbandanan Stadium Malaysia (PSM) and Football Association of Malaysia (FAM).

The ‘Battle of the Reds’ exhibition match is scheduled to be held at the National Stadium Bukit Jalil on 27th April 2024 at 8.45pm. Limited tickets are still available for purchase at https://www.ticket2u.com.my/event/34323/battle-of-the-reds.
