As the Hari Raya Aidilfitri month draws to a close, we reflect on the heartwarming moments throughout the holy month of Ramadan and acknowledge the incredible efforts from all our partners who have made an impact in the lives of communities across Malaysia.
Grab Malaysia’s celebration this year, themed “Kebaikan Dalam Setiap Pesanan” saw a host of events and engagements that were organised with the community, for the community.
Supporting Grab Partners’ Families via School Starter Kits
In recognition of Grab’s invaluable driver- and driver-partners, one of the efforts included partnering with Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS) to provide school starter kits valued at RM150 each to 780 children of Grab’s driver- and delivery-partners across Selangor to help alleviate their financial burdens.
Surau Restoration Project with Pusat Pungutan Zakat – MAIWP (PPZ-MAIWP)
Moreover, ensuring driver- and delivery-partners have a comfortable and convenient place to pray, the company also collaborated with Pusat Pungutan Zakat – MAIWP (PPZ-MAIWP) to restore and refurbish a surau at KLIA landside.
Grab’s Bubur Lambuk Distribution Drive
In the spirit of Ramadan, the Grab Malaysia team, along with its community of driver- and delivery-partners collaborated with local mosques and hospitals across the East Coast region to distribute bubur lambuk to over 2,500 individuals.
Cabaran Ramadan-UmrahGrab
Showing gratitude not only to its community of partners but also consumers, the company also introduced Cabaran Ramadan-UmrahGrab where winners stood a chance to win an umrah package. The effort saw almost 539,000 Grab consumers, and driver- and delivery-partners participating to win an all-expense paid 12D10N Umrah Package.
Extending The Raya Festivities to The Underserved
Spreading the joy of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Grab Malaysia lastly worked with NGOs and its community of partners in Ipoh, Johor Bahru, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Melaka Negeri Sembilan and Penang to host open houses – extending the festivities to communities that matter the most to Grab’s driver- and delivery-partners in each location.
Rashid Shukor, Director of Country Operations and Mobility at Grab Malaysia, emphasised, “As a homegrown brand, the “Kebaikan Dalam Setiap Pesanan” campaign was a way for us to address the needs of our communities and foster positive social impact. Our driver- and delivery-partners play a significant role in serving Malaysians daily and we wanted to support not only their needs but the needs of communities who matter most to them. Through these efforts, we hope to cultivate a sense of unity and inclusivity within our society, ensuring that no community is left behind.”
