Analysis: Who Visits Malaysia? Maxim Shares Statistics Based On E-hailing Orders

Malaysia’s beauty makes the country a tourist attraction with multicultural activities, picturesque scenery, historic landmarks, and many more. Maxim has become one of the transportation alternatives for tourists who visit Malaysia, as it’s very convenient and affordable.

Specialists from Maxim collected data from 2019 to the first half of 2024, which showed that 47% of tourists are from Indonesia. In second place are Singaporean, with 35%, in third place are tourists from China, with 8%. Fourth place is taken by tourists from the Middle East, with 6%, and the last in the top five is Thailand, with 4%.

During the vacation, tourists prefer to use e-hailing applications, because they provide a number of benefits to their users. Firstly, an e-hailing application is one of the safest ways to get around the city, as all data is recorded and everything is monitored by the e-hailing company.

Next, tourists get the opportunity to check the estimated price of their ride in the app by changing the country in the settings; the total price will appear once the pick-up and drop-off locations are entered. Thanks to this, tourists can plan their travel costs in advance.

In addition to all that, Maxim’s application offers more than 25 languages. It’s very user-friendly and allows you to choose any preferred language. All this can also help avoid scam or unwanted situations.

“We’re committed to creating a welcoming environment for tourists, offering user-friendly features and competitive pricing. With Maxim, exploring Malaysia becomes not just simpler, but also more enjoyable, allowing tourists to focus on making lasting memories. We look forward to welcoming visitors and helping them discover all that our beautiful cities have to offer,” said Mohd Hazwan Musley, Director of Maxim Malaysia.

Maxim specialists from Malaysia also share the top five tourist spots. First place goes to Langkawi Island, where 30% of the tourists travel to for its beauty and an unforgettable experience. Number two is the capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, with 29% of tourists visiting it; in third place is Kota Kinabalu, with 25%. In fourth and fifth places are Semporna, with 12%, and Johor Bahru, with 4%, respectively.

The data that the specialists shared shows that the most popular tourist destinations are the island and the capital city, where e-hailing services are available. Tourists can enjoy the vacation with peace of mind as everything has been planned perfectly.
