Genki Sushi Adds A Pearl To Their Crown With Halal Certification

Genki Sushi Malaysia has achieved yet another milestone as it officially received its Halal certification from the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) for all of its outlets in Malaysia. This certification marks a momentous step forward in the brand’s dedication to always having its Malaysian customers’ values at its core and evolving to ensure its relevance; all while maintaining its authentic Japanese culinary experience.

To mark this achievement, a special Halal certification event was held today at Genki Sushi in Sunway Velocity Mall. In attendance was Jun Uchida, Head of Business, Development & Support at Genki Sushi SEA, and Law Hwee Ching, Country Head, Genki Sushi Malaysia.

“With Malaysia having one of the most stringent Halal certification processes, receiving a Halal certification for all of our outlets is a milestone event that deserves significant celebration. This achievement bears testament to our respect for the religious and cultural values of Malaysia. But more than that, it also highlights our dedication to growth, while maintaining the highest quality standards across all of our menu items, ensuring that our food and restaurants meet the required food safety and premise cleanliness criteria required by JAKIM,” said Law Hwee Ching, Genki Sushi Malaysia’s Country Head

“Obtaining this Halal Certification is just a small part of a bigger picture in  developing the Genki Sushi brand. The Malaysian market is an important one for Genki Sushi with  tremendous potential for brand growth. Malaysia can expect to see more Genki Sushi outlets opening up, which further accentuates the brand’s commitment here. We have always prided ourselves on  our commitment to quality and innovation, and I firmly believe that with the support of our Malaysian customers, we will see the brand grow from strength to strength,” explained Jun Uchida, Head of Business, Development & Support at Genki Sushi SEA.

In addition to announcing its Halal status, Genki Sushi also expanded their menu offering in Malaysia with the introduction of their new menu offerings at their certification event, allowing guests to experience firsthand the quality and authenticity of the food. Visitors to Genki Sushi looking for fresh and delectable dishes can expect to indulge in the Sashimi Moriawase, Spicy Salmon Maki, Unatama Tempura Maki, and Trio Salmon Sushi, amongst others. Those wanting a more epicurean taste of Japan can also look forward to a selection of dishes comprising Tempura Moriawase, Yakiniku Roll, Agedashi Tofu, and the like.

The new menu items are currently available at all Genki Sushi outlets in Malaysia.

A pioneer in the conveyor belt sushi concept in Malaysia, Genki Sushi is poised to continue delighting its customers, offering a dining experience that now caters to a wider community. By continuing to innovate and grow, the brand is embracing local values while maintaining the essence of authentic Japanese cuisine.
