Madam Lee Private Dining Adds a Malay Twist to Its Nyonya Legacy & We Got to Try It

When you think of Peranakan food, rich flavors, beautiful plating, and a touch of tradition probably come to mind. At Madam Lee Nyonya Private Dining, Palm Garden Hotel in Putrajaya, you’ll get all of that — and now, even more.

We recently had the chance to try out their newest menu additions featuring classic Malay dishes that sit perfectly alongside their signature Nyonya offerings. Think hearty, home-style food, elevated with a chef’s touch.

A Fusion That Works at Madam Lee Nyonya Private Dining

This exciting update comes from the creative minds of Chef Irwan Sutan Chairul, the hotel’s Executive Chef, and Chef Rizal Sobry, their Chef de Cuisine. Together, they’ve introduced a few traditional Malay dishes with bold flavors and familiar comfort — but done with finesse.

Here’s what stood out on our table:

  • Masak Lemak Minangkabau – Creamy, spicy, and full of lemongrass aroma. The kind of dish that makes you want to ask for seconds (or thirds).
  • Ayam Masak Kicap – Tender chicken in a sweet-spicy soy sauce. A classic done right.
  • Sambal Cili Api – Fiery and addictive. You’ll need water, but you’ll go back for more.
  • Grilled Items (Ikan & Ayam Bakar) – Smoky, flavorful, and perfectly marinated. Great on its own or with rice.

The best part? These dishes don’t feel like they’re competing with the Nyonya staples — instead, they complement each other beautifully. So whether you’re a fan of Itik Pongteh or you’re just craving something spicy and satisfying, you’ll find something to love here.

Perfect for Events, Too

Beyond the food, the space at Madam Lee is also worth mentioning. Tucked inside Palm Garden Hotel, it offers a cozy yet stylish setting that works well for both corporate functions and intimate gatherings. If you’re looking for somewhere with ambiance and flavor, this is a solid option.

Final Bite

We love that Madam Lee isn’t afraid to explore and expand its menu while staying true to its roots. It’s a thoughtful blend of heritage and creativity that brings something new to the table  literally.

So, would you give their new menu a try? Let us know which dish would be your top pick!
