When Creativity Meets Comfort: LEGO® and IKEA Malaysia Reimagine Home Decor

With its latest collection of display-worthy sets, The LEGO Group opens up  a new dimension of LEGO play into one’s living space. Featuring builds ranging from botanical designs  to artistic pop culture tributes, the collection enables fans to express their unique passions and  interests, seamlessly blending with any home aesthetic.

Ágnes Molnár, Marketing Director of Singapore, Malaysia and APAC Travel Retail, The LEGO Group,  said: “At The LEGO Group, we believe that creativity transcends all areas of our lives and is a powerful  way to express ourselves. We’re excited to showcase how LEGO sets offer limitless possibilities. They are more than just a tool for play, but also as design elements that bring beauty, meaning, and  personality into our living spaces. No matter your style and personality, there is a LEGO set that can  complement the aesthetic of your home.”

Explore your living style at The Exchange TRX

In partnership with IKEA Malaysia, The LEGO Group is hosting LEGO Home – A Playful Twist to Your  Home, the first ever LEGO Home in Malaysia at Central Exchange, Ground Floor of The Exchange TRX  from 29 May to 8 June. This ‘house tour’ event invites the public to explore how LEGO sets can be  used as home decor to meet different living styles and passion, and serves as inspiration to add a  playful touch to their homes. In this 3-way partnership at The Exchange TRX, the home decorations  are built and styled with LEGO bricks, while the space is furnished by IKEA Malaysia.

Be it a new homeowner or simply seeking decorating ideas, there’s something for everyone. The event  showcases diverse themes across the LEGO portfolio with the likes of Arts, Botanical, Architecture and  Icons that can be curated for just any room including the foyer, living room, kitchen, preschool room,  children’s rooms, and even a gaming room.

Upon entering the event space, stroll through a garden before heading to the Main Entrance to  register at the foyer. Visitors will then embark on a tour featuring unique LEGO sets thoughtfully  designed to complement each room. The rooms will also have QR codes for visitors to scan for more  details about the setup. Don’t miss out on interactive activities like the Make & Take, LEGO gaming,  free build activities and giveaways! Afterwards, capture fun memories at the various photo spots  around the house, and take home photo printouts. On selected days and time slots, the Bluey & Bingo  characters, as well as the LEGO Space Benny mascot will also be available for photo opportunities.

Be sure to also check out the fan-built displays such as the LEGO brick-built mirror, chandelier and  more that you can only see and experience exclusively at the event!

Shoppers can enjoy various on-site redemption offers:

  • Redeem a limited edition LEGO Sticker Pack when you take a photo at the LEGO Home and  post it on social media with the #MYLEGOHOME and #LEGOMY hashtags.
  • Receive a RM10 voucher when you upload a photo of yourself taken at the Girl’s Room and  post it on social media with #MYLEGOHOME and #LEGOMY. Then, collect your customisable  frame printouts at the printing booth!
  • Redeem an exclusive LEGO Home Décor Stamp at the LEGO Selling Area when you bring your  LEGO passport to the event.

Where personal style meets creative play

To inspire fans to reimagine their homes and add a touch of their unique personalities and interests  through LEGO play, The LEGO Group has partnered with interior stylist Priscilla Tan (@StyledbyPT) to  co-create a series of playful but practical LEGO Home Decor tips to help fans style their living spaces  based on three different living personalities (Nature Lovers, Pop Culture Collectors and Art

Enthusiasts). Each personality is brought to life through a curated collection of LEGO sets and design  tips, allowing your passions shine in your homes.

LEGO play meets practical living at IKEA Malaysia

For those who prefer to shop for home decor at their own pace, The LEGO Group and IKEA Malaysia  will showcase how the LEGO Home Decor sets can be seamlessly integrated into everyday living  spaces. Fans can explore a curated selection of display-worthy LEGO sets styled into real-life room  setups at IKEA Damansara (10-22 June), IKEA Batu Kawan (30 June – 14 July) and IKEA Tebrau (21 July  – 24 August) showrooms. This offers fresh inspiration on how to weave playfulness into purposeful  design.

“At IKEA, our vision has always been to create a better everyday life for the many people – and we  believe that home is the most important place in the world. This partnership with the LEGO Group  brings that vision to life in a truly joyful way. By combining home furnishing with the endless  possibilities of LEGO creativity, we’re making it easier for more people to express their personality and  create spaces that feel uniquely theirs. It’s fun, it’s functional, and it’s a great example of how even  small touches can make a big difference in making home feel more you,” said Malcolm Pruys, Retail  Director, IKEA Malaysia.
