UMW Toyota Drives Customer Connections Through Performance, Community And Real Value

UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) closed June 2025 with strong sales, recording 7,773 units for the month and bringing the year-to-date total to 44,286 units. This sustained momentum reflects the company’s continued focus on delivering reliable, high-quality mobility solutions that meet the evolving needs of Malaysian drivers.

Toyota’s lineup continues to meet the needs of Malaysian drivers from all walks of life, whether they are first-time owners, business users or long-time loyalists. Guided by Toyota’s global Mobility for All philosophy, UMWT continues to offer a diverse range of vehicles that deliver trusted performance, everyday practicality and long-term value. Whether through innovative tech or dependable design, each model reflects the brand’s commitment to serving real needs in real life.

“At UMW Toyota Motor, our focus has always been on building lasting relationships with our customers and the communities we serve. We believe that performance, reliability and real value are what truly matter to Malaysians,” said Datuk Ravindran K., President of UMW Toyota Motor. “Whether through the cars we offer or the experiences we create, our aim is to stay connected to the everyday journeys of our customers. That is how we continue to Move Your World.”

Celebrating Performance and Community at Super GT Malaysia Festival

UMWT took centre stage as the Title Sponsor of the Super GT Malaysia Festival at Sepang International Circuit. The event marked the return of the prestigious race series to Malaysia after a 12-year break and drew over 75,000 fans. Toyota’s presence extended beyond the track with a dedicated GAZOO Racing zone featuring GR performance models, racing simulators, interactive activities, and family-friendly attractions. The experience brought motorsports closer to the public and reflected Toyota’s commitment to making excitement and mobility more accessible to Malaysians.

Adding to the weekend’s momentum was the international debut of the one-hour TGR Vios Challenge endurance race, held on the full Sepang circuit alongside the Super GT main event. Now in its eighth season, the race featured 36 drivers in a new endurance format, including five young talents from the Toyota GAZOO Racing Young Talent Development Programme. It marked a significant milestone in UMWT’s long-term investment in motorsports and youth development and reflected on how the brand continues to Move Your World by championing local talent and expanding access to high-level racing.

Delivering Practical Innovation at Energy Asia 2025

UMWT showcased its innovation at Energy Asia 2025, held from 16 to 18 June at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Central to its presentation was Toyota’s Multipathway approach to decarbonisation strategy encompassing energy efficient Internal Combustion Engine Vehicles (ICEs) including those compatible with biofuel, Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs), Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs), Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEVs), reflecting Toyota’s commitment to using the right technology at the right time based on real-world needs and readiness. The showcase also featured the Eco-Vehicle Assessment System, which applies Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) practices to reduce environmental impact across the entire vehicle lifecycle. Visitors also had the opportunity to view the Toyota Mirai, a hydrogen-powered vehicle that emits only water vapour.

To complement its June performance, UMWT rolled out value-packed promotions aimed at making Toyota ownership more accessible and rewarding.
