It’s game over for Squid Game, but not without one last round of thrills.
To mark the final season, Netflix brought Squid Game: The Exhibit to life in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Held from 27 to 29 June at LaLaport Bukit Bintang City Centre, the three-day event pulled in over 8,000 fans some even suited up in signature green tracksuits and red guard uniforms.
From eerie music to giant game installations, the event was the ultimate farewell party for one of Netflix’s most iconic shows.
A Walk Down Memory Lane, Squid Game-Style
Visitors were greeted with a massive Squid Game invitation card at the entrance, signaling the start of their journey. And who better to welcome them than 50 Pink Guards, marching in sync alongside towering versions of Young-hee and Chul-su?
Yup, they’re back, bigger, scarier, and with one last game to play.
Malaysia-Inspired Twists to Classic Challenges
Fans got to relive iconic games across all three seasons but with a local flavour.
Season 1’s infamous dalgona challenge returned, this time featuring a wau bulan carved into the honeycomb. It was sweet, nostalgic, and terrifying all at once.
For Season 2’s Pentathlon, the Flying Stone game swapped its stone for a giant selipar a cheeky nod to Malaysian childhood days of slipper-throwing fun.
And from Season 3? A brand-new Jump Rope Challenge, watched over by Young-hee and her sidekick Chul-su, both standing 18 feet tall. Those who made it through earned limited edition Squid Game goodies.
A Star Appearance and Unforgettable Moments
Keeping the crowd in check were the ever-alert Pink Guards, who stayed in character throughout. On Saturday, local star Amir Ahnaf aka Panos (Malaysia’s Thanos) showed up to surprise fans, fresh from his viral role in Netflix Malaysia’s promo.
