Malaysia’s Coffee Game Levels Up with NESCAFÉ Espresso Concentrate

Coffee culture isn’t slowing down anytime soon and Malaysia is now officially on the global map for the next big thing in coffee: NESCAFÉ Espresso Concentrate.

Nestlé Malaysia just kicked off production at their Sri Muda factory in Shah Alam, turning the site into a key player in Nestlé’s worldwide halal manufacturing network.

What’s the hype? Cold coffee is booming across Asia (think: your endless scrolls of iced latte TikToks), and NESCAFÉ is tapping into that demand with a premium café-style concentrate that makes it easier than ever to enjoy your iced fix at home, in the office, or even on the go.

The cool factor:

  • Made with Arabica & Robusta beans, so it’s not just “any kopi ais.”
  • Packaged in 100% recycled PET bottles (yes, eco-friendly flex).
  • Produced in Shah Alam, but heading to Singapore, Oceania, the Middle East and beyond.

Nestlé Malaysia’s CEO, Juan Aranols, called it a “milestone” not just for coffee lovers, but also for job creation and Malaysia’s role as a regional export hub. Translation? Malaysia isn’t just drinking the coffee, we’re making it for the world.

And honestly, it makes sense. The Sri Muda factory has already been home to your MILO, NESCAFÉ RTDs, and NESTLÉ OMEGA PLUS drinks. With this upgrade, it’s like the factory just got a barista-level espresso machine upgrade.

For Gen Z & millennials just starting their coffee journey, this move is all about making café vibes accessible without needing to drop RM15 every morning.

Plus, Nestlé is doubling down on sustainability. Fun fact: this factory was one of the first in ASEAN to fully switch to 100% rPET bottles and ditch plastic straws. Green creds unlocked.

The takeaway:

Malaysia isn’t just following the coffee trend, we’re brewing it for Asia (and soon, the world). So the next time you sip on a cold coffee, just know: it might’ve started right here in Shah Alam.
