Lights, Culture, and Celebration: Deepavali Shines Bright at Sunway Lagoon and Lost World of Tambun
The night skies above Sunway Lagoon and Sunway Lost World of Tambun came alive with dazzling bursts of colour as thousands gathered for The Grand Deepavali Celebration, one of Malaysia’s biggest and most anticipated Festival of Lights events.
The week-long celebration, held from 15 to 22 October 2025, united visitors from across Malaysia, neighbouring ASEAN countries, and beyond, transforming the parks into radiant hubs of joy, unity, and culture.
A Festival That Sparkles
As the crowd counted down, a spectacular three-minute fireworks display illuminated the night, symbolising Deepavali’s timeless message, the triumph of light over darkness. Throughout the evening, guests were treated to an electrifying lineup of performances, including the rhythmic Melodies of Deepavali, the energetic Colours of Bhangra, and a Dhol Parade that turned the venue into a dance floor under the stars.
Adding to the festivities were colourful kolam displays, festive photo zones, and joyful meet-and-greets with the ever-popular Captain Quack and Family mascots, creating picture-perfect memories for families and friends.
Celebration Unity Through Culture
“Deepavali is a celebration of light, culture, and togetherness and at Sunway Theme Parks, we’re proud to honour that spirit,” said Professor Calvin Ho, Chief Executive Officer of Sunway Theme Parks.
“Events like this allow people from all walks of life to experience Malaysia’s multicultural richness, creating spaces that bring communities closer.”
This year’s celebration continues Sunway’s legacy of inclusivity. Following major festive highlights for Hari Raya, Chinese New Year, and Christmas, reflecting the true essence of Malaysia’s unity in diversity.
