Trump in Asia to Strengthen Diplomatic Relationships

According to Kyodo News, the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, stated that he will conduct a visit to Malaysia, Japan, and South Korea in the immediate future. Moreover, he also aims to display positive gestures to China.

Even amid escalating trade conflict between the United States and China, Trump has demonstrated positivity. He looks forward to a potential discussion with the President of China, Xi Jinping, in South Korea next week.

In a meeting with the Prime Minister Anthony Albanese at the White House, President Trump expressed his commitment to fair trade with China. Furthermore, he also reaffirmed his admiration for a constructive relationship with President Xi.

Trump said he will visit Malaysia and Japan.

“Having agreed that would be a suitable place to meet, we will be meeting there. I will be in Malaysia, and I will be in Japan.” Trump said.

He emphasized that the upcoming one-on-one meeting with President Xi will take place in South Korea in late October. The meeting is set to happen during the APEC Economic Summit.

Surprisingly, this is the initial instance Trump has declared openly about his intention to visit Malaysia and Japan. The statement was made without further elaboration.

The Japanese Government stated that Trump is scheduled to visit Japan for three days from October 27. This follows a short diplomatic visit to Malaysia for an individual regional conference consisting of nations in Southeast Asia and potential collaborators.

The planned trip to the Asian region will be his first experience since the start of his non-consecutive second term as President of the United States in January.
