When the Sky Spins: Malaysia’s Unexpected Tornado Tales

Did you know tornado can reach a speed of up to 480km per hour? In the blink of an eye, your roof could be gone! This is one of nature’s most thrilling and dangerous surprise.

That spinning column of air stretching from the clouds to the ground? That’s what we call a tornado, and Malaysia has it too.

Most of the time, they show up as waterspouts or landspouts. Luckily, it’s not as fierce as those in ‘Tornado Alley’. They are smaller and shorter-lived, but they can still pack a punch. So people, it is best to stay alert.

Over the years, tornadoes have been quietly making their subtle mark in Malaysia. These deadly twisters will appear in a heartbeat and vanish in a breath. Just like a ghost! While brief, the impact can still be severe in some cases.
