Victory Pictures Introduces Modern Anak-Anak Sidek in ‘Sentuhan Wira’: The Reborn of Badminton Legends

Remembering the past, shaping a radiant future. Victory Pictures lets you take a glimpse of its official main cast for the most-awaited Malaysian badminton film, Sentuhan Wira.

Sentuhan Wira aims to recreate the unforgettable moments that united the nation. An effort to relive the fond memory of the 1992 Thomas Cup triumph, while honouring the players who lifted Malaysian badminton onto the world stage.

The Official Main Cast Introduction Ceremony revealed the lead actors to the media and the public.

This included a symbolic script handover from the directing team. It is a clear signal that the production is now moving into the next phase.

Honouring Thomas Cup Legends: A Tribute to Malaysia’s National Heroes

Produced by local production house Victory Pictures, the movie Sentuhan Wira draws inspiration from Malaysia’s iconic 1992 Thomas Cup triumph.  

Historical footage of the Thomas Cup victory was also screened at the event, allowing guests to relive the defining moments that brought Malaysians together.

Directed by Lenny Ooi of Victory Pictures, he shared, 

This film is more than a creative project. It is a piece of national heritage that deserves to be remembered.

Victory Pictures Officially Revealed the Main Cast

Directors Lenny Ooi and Nick Ooi presented the film scripts to the actors, with several Thomas Cup greats in attendance. 

The special presence of the national badminton legends, Datuk Rashid Sidek and Datuk Cheah Soon Kit, indeed sparks the feeling of nostalgia.

Both icons were the key players on the squad at the time. And now, they served as production advisers to ensure a more authentic and emotionally impactful portrayal.

The official cast of “Sentuhan Wira” together with the film’s directors and national badminton legends at the Cast Reveal & Sponsor Announcement Press Conference.

Victory Pictures Said the Filming is Set to Begin in Early 2026

With the completion of the main cast introduction ceremony, Sentuhan Wira now enters its final pre-production stage. 

The film is expected to begin full-scale filming in early 2026, followed by a nationwide theatrical release.

Victory Pictures also reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with various partners to bring this Malaysian sports film to the international stage.
