Malaysia’s versatile singer, Marsha Milan, has once again made the nation proud with her charismatic spirit. She was specially invited to perform at Malaysia Fest held at Tumbalong Park, Sydney, Australia, on November 22.
The annual cultural festival successfully attracted over 20,000 visitors throughout the day. Indeed, this event encourages Malaysians and the international community to live in a unified sphere.
In a dynamic and heartfelt performance, Marsha delivered a lineup of her popular songs, such as Hening Rindu and Cinta. Just as foreseen, she received thunderous applause from the audience.
She also lit up the stage with songs inspired by her Bornean identity, including Sumandak Sabah, Pelangi Pasti, and Nalan Nalan. This makes her showcase one of the most celebrated moments for the Malaysian community living in Sydney.
Marsha expressed her pride and excitement at being allowed to represent Malaysia on an international stage through Malaysia Fest 2025.
“I feel incredibly proud to be chosen to represent Malaysia in Sydney. Through my album Misompuru and songs like Cinta and Hening Rindu, I’m able to highlight the beauty of our culture and music to an international audience.”
Sharing the preparations made for her performance in Sydney, Marsha explained that she and her team ensured the show ran smoothly and energetically.
“Alhamdulillah, everything went well. My only concern was maintaining the stage energy and momentum, but the result was very satisfying. We were also supported by dancers from Wandie Space Art Performance, and I once again collaborated with Saerah to create a contemporary-traditional style throughout the performance.”
Marsha’s involvement in Malaysia Fest 2025 not only showcased the artistic quality she brings but also emphasized her role as a cultural ambassador for Malaysia on the global stage.
“The most special moment for me was seeing everyone singing and dancing along. As a singer, that kind of support is the greatest achievement. God willing, I hope this opportunity becomes a stepping stone for me to go further, whether through future performances or new works that can touch the hearts of all listeners.”
According to MFest CEO, Syahmi Ismail, this year’s festival carries a broader and deeper mission.
“The organization of this festival symbolizes the support of Malaysian youth and students in Sydney for the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign, while also promoting our states and culture to the world. Artist selection is very meticulous because they will become the ‘Voice of Malaysia.’ They must be influential artistic icons at the international level.”
Malaysia Fest is one of the most influential overseas platforms for promoting Malaysian heritage, music, arts, and identity to the global audience.
This year, the event was even more vibrant with the participation of Malaysian communities from various states, including Sabah and Sarawak. This makes it the largest cultural celebration organized by the Malaysian diaspora in Sydney.
