EDOTCO Group Shines in UN Global Compact ESG Select List 2025

EDOTCO Group has been recognised as a 3-Star Lister in the ESG Select List 2025 by the UN Global Compact Network Malaysia & Brunei (UNGCMYB), a nod to its sustainability leadership across three key categories. The accolade celebrates EDOTCO’s concrete steps in embedding environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices into its operations.

Group CEO, Adlan Tajudin, said:

“Digital connectivity is essential to national progress, and it must be built responsibly. Being named a 3-Star Lister shows how ESG is part of EDOTCO’s DNA, from how we build and operate, to how we innovate, supporting Malaysia’s sustainability goals and connecting communities inclusively.”

The recognition highlights EDOTCO’s groundbreaking initiatives, including:

  • ESG Trailblazer: Malaysia’s first dedicated EV fleet for tower maintenance, deploying Proton e.MAS 7 vehicles, cutting Scope 1 emissions from diesel-heavy logistics.
  • ESG Breakthrough Innovation: The Biochar Pole, Malaysia’s first low-carbon telecom tower made from palm-based biochar and GGBS, reducing emissions while acting as a carbon sink, first implemented in Kedah with plans to scale nationwide.
  • The North Star ESG Target: EDOTCO is the first Malaysian tower infrastructure company to secure SBTi validation, committing to 42% emissions reduction for Scope 1 and 2 by 2030.

Faroze Nadar, Executive Director of UNGCMYB, added:

“EDOTCO’s inclusion reflects measurable sustainability actions and highlights practical approaches companies are taking as Malaysia continues its journey towards sustainable development.”

The ESG Select List recognises organisations leading in sustainability through real impact, innovation, and clear targets, with each category contributing one star to the overall framework. EDOTCO’s 3-Star status underscores its commitment to responsible growth and greener connectivity for Malaysia.
