RIMOWA Celebrates Year of the Horse with Greg Hsu and Tang Ma Opera Inspiration

Since 1898, RIMOWA has been making suitcases that don’t just carry your stuff—they carry your journey. For the Year of the Horse, the German brand celebrates the rhythm of travel with its “Enjoy the Ride” campaign.

Inspired by Tang Ma, the horse-riding performance technique of Chinese Opera, the campaign blends tradition with modern travel vibes. Directed by Dorothea Sing Zhang, the short film stars Greg Hsu, award-winning actor and RIMOWA Friend of the Brand, alongside Geng Qiaoyun, a Plum Blossom Award-winning Peking Opera master.

In the film, Hsu attends a Tang Ma performance and gets swept into an unexpected city adventure. His movements mirror the opera’s rhythm, while he carries RIMOWA’s Original Twist in Powder Blue a suitcase as smooth and calm as a fresh start to the year.

With leather-wrapped handles, TSA-approved locks, and aluminium casing, it’s more than a suitcase it’s a modern steed carrying the spirit of travel from past to present.

The campaign also features striking visuals from Tianjin’s Grand Theatre, showing how culture and travel collide in a cinematic way.

This Year of the Horse, RIMOWA reminds us: travel with intention, imagination, and motion.
