Duck Pineapple Tart Cookies Recipe, Cute Festive Cookies That Look Almost Too Adorable to Eat

If you think festive cookies have reached peak cuteness, think again.

The internet has crowned its new favourite baking obsession: pineapple tart cookies shaped like tiny baby ducks, and they’re honestly too adorable to eat (but you will eat them anyway).

From their round, chubby bodies to their tiny beaks, these duck-shaped tarts are giving major “soft girl era meets home baker” vibes.

It’s whimsical, it’s nostalgic, and it’s the treat your guests will photograph before eating. Basically? This is the cottagecore dessert of 2026.

Why Everyone’s Obsessed? Because they’re not just cookies; they’re characters.

These little duckies look like they walked straight out of a Pixar short film and into your snack jar.

Cute? Yes.

A conversation starter? Absolutely.

Kid-friendly and festive-ready? 100%.

And behind the charm? They’re still the classic, buttery pineapple tart cookie you know and love.

Ingredients You Need

For the Dough:

  • 250g unsalted butter
  • 50g icing sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 350g all-purpose flour
  • 50g cornstarch
  • Pinch of salt

For the Filling:

  • 1 fresh pineapple, grated
  • 150–200g sugar
  • 2 cloves (optional)
  • 1 cinnamon stick (optional)

Roll the finished filling into tiny balls, small enough to fit inside each duck.

For the Duck Details:

  • Black sesame seeds or black edible pearls
  • A small piece of orange dough (just colour a bit of dough orange)
  • Egg wash for that glossy bakery sheen

How to Make These Cute Baby Duck Pineapple Tart Cookies

1. Cook the Pineapple Jam

  • Heat the grated pineapple with sugar (and spices if you like).
  • Cook until thick, golden and jammy.
  • Cool and roll into mini filling balls.

2. Prepare the Dough

  • Cream butter + icing sugar.
  • Add yolks and vanilla.
  • Fold in flour, cornstarch and salt until it forms a soft dough.

3. Shape the Duck Body

  • Take a small piece of dough.
  • Flatten, place the jam ball inside, and seal.
  • Roll into an oval shape, this is the duck’s chubby body.

4. Add the Head

  • Roll a smaller dough ball and attach it to one end of the body.
  • Smooth the edges so the head blends naturally.

5. Details Make the Duck

  • Press black sesame seeds or edible pearls for eyes
  • Add a tiny triangle of orange dough for the beak
  • Use a toothpick to make tiny feather lines if you want extra detail

This is where the magic happens, the cookies come to life!

6. Egg Wash & Bake

  • Brush lightly with egg wash.
  • Bake at 160–170°C for 20–25 minutes, until soft and lightly coloured.

7. Let Them Cool (If You Can Resist)

  • The duckies firm up and look even cuter once cooled.
  • Prepare for squeals of “ehh comel gila!” from anyone who sees them.

These duck-shaped pineapple tart cookies have the same energy as Sanrio characters, Studio Ghibli mascots and the “small things that spark joy” trend dominating TikTok.

They’re not just festive treats, they’re aesthetic, photogenic, and a whole personality.

This year? Your cookie tray is the main character.
