Fast Cars, Fresh Fits: PUMA x McLaren Racing Steals Jakarta’s Spotlight

Southeast Asia’s motorsport and street-style scene is racing ahead, and PUMA is keeping pace with the PUMA x McLaren Racing Collection. The Jakarta launch sets the tone for a new era of fast-meets-fashion.

The launch marks a key Southeast Asia moment in PUMA and McLaren Racing’s global partnership. It also aligns with a major milestone for the teams.

The event coincides with the simultaneous global reveal of the McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 Team’s 2026 livery (MCL40).

On Monday, 9 February 2026, Jakarta joins Las Vegas, London, and Bahrain for this landmark reveal. It becomes one of only four cities in the world to take part.

Malaysian Creators Take the Spotlight

Representing Malaysia at the regional celebration are notable creators and personalities from the lifestyle, fashion, and streetwear scene: Tunway (@tunway), William Seng (@williamsengg), Celine Chan (@sl_celine), Sara Muzam (@saramuzam), and Ezzrin (@ahmadezzrinloy), joining fellow Southeast Asian creators at the exclusive MCL40 Car Unveil Viewing Party in Jakarta.

PUMA

Their presence brings a distinctly Malaysian flair to the regional stage, alongside other creators, to celebrate this landmark motorsport and lifestyle moment.

Rooted in the spirit of fans who bring unmatched energy to the sport, the debut lifestyle collection pays tribute to that passion. It translates motorsport heritage into contemporary street style.

It features standout pieces like racing-inspired shorts and pants.

The collection also includes football-inspired jerseys reimagined with modern silhouettes for everyday wear on and off the grid.

For PUMA, motorsport is not only about performance on the track, but also about how racing energy lives within everyday culture. Indonesia, especially Jakarta, has a very strong youth community connected to fashion and streetwear, making it the right place to translate motorsport inspiration into a lifestyle that feels close to people’s daily lives,” said Sanjay Roy, Managing Director, PUMA Southeast Asia & Oceania.

As part of the synchronised global unveiling, Jakarta takes its place as Southeast Asia’s representative city. It hosts the reveal of the McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 Team’s 2026 MCL40 livery.

The moment underscores the region’s growing influence in the global motorsport and lifestyle landscape.

Selected for its role as a cultural and creative hub, Jakarta plays a central part in the global activation. The event celebrates the diversity and dynamism of Southeast Asia’s urban communities.

Blending fashion, lifestyle, and motorsport, the event offers fans a shared viewing experience of the MCL40 livery reveal. It brings the global Formula 1 moment closer to home.

Beyond the collection launch, the Jakarta activation highlights the PUMA x McLaren Racing partnership. It shows how the collaboration bridges global motorsport with local culture.

The event reinforces PUMA’s commitment to creating immersive brand experiences. These experiences are designed to resonate with Southeast Asian audiences as part of a worldwide moment.
