PUMA and McLaren Racing Brought Southeast Asia Together for High-Speed Style at Ignition Beach

Global sports brand PUMA teamed up with the McLaren Formula 1 Team to bring race-week energy beyond the track with Ignition Beach at St Kilda.

The seaside activation transformed one of St Kilda Beach’s most iconic spots into a vibrant playground celebrating motorsport, style, and fan culture.

Held during race week ahead of the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, the event gave regional guests a rare chance to soak up the excitement surrounding the season’s opening race.

From immersive fan experiences to exclusive previews, Ignition Beach turned the shoreline into a buzzing hub for Formula 1 enthusiasts.

Malaysian Creators Join the Regional Race Week Experience

On 4 March, several of Malaysia’s top digital creators were invited to join fellow influencers from Southeast Asia and Oceania for the exclusive regional experience.

Among them were Tunway (@tunway), Sara Muzam (@saramuzam), and Ahmad Ezzrin Loy (@ahmadezzrinloy), who flew to Melbourne to capture the high-energy atmosphere for fans back home.

The day kicked off with an exclusive driver engagement session featuring Oscar Piastri, followed by a private evening launch celebration marking the official start of the PUMA x McLaren Racing partnership.

Malaysian creators also got a first-hand look at the latest collaboration pieces, documenting the experience across social media and bringing the race-week buzz directly to their audiences.

When Motorsport Meets Street Style

According to PUMA’s Vice President Motorsport, Thomas Josnik said:

“Melbourne is where the season’s energy truly comes to life, and with Ignition Beach we wanted to create a space that brings fans right into the heart of it. Together with McLaren Racing, we’re turning one of the city’s most iconic beach locations into a vibrant, open-to-all experience where people can connect with the team, discover the latest PUMA x McLaren gear, and feel the excitement of race week up close.”

Louise McEwen, Chief Marketing Officer at McLaren Formula 1 Team, added:

“We are committed to bringing fans closer to the team and offer immersive experiences away from track, so I’m absolutely thrilled to add Ignition Beach St Kilda to the roster of free events we’ve been offering around the globe, including last year’s McLaren Racing Live experiences in London and Austin. It’s fantastic to partner with PUMA and Mastercard to create a family-friendly fan event as we get ready for the first race of the season.”

For Malaysian fans following the world of Formula One, the event highlights how motorsport culture now extends far beyond the circuit, blending racing, fashion, and lifestyle into one global movement.

The PUMA x McLaren Racing Collection is now available in Malaysia, priced between RM129 and RM529. Fans can shop the collection at selected PUMA stores nationwide, as well as retailers like JD Sports and Foot Locker, or online via PUMA’s official website at PUMA.com.
