How Pavilion REIT Made This Chinese New Year Brighter for Seniors

This Chinese New Year, Pavilion REIT Malls brought the spirit of renewal beyond its malls and into the heart of the community.

More than 80 employees from the Marketing and Operations teams came together to make a difference.

They uplifted the lives of 55 senior residents across two eldercare homes in the Klang Valley.

This annual Chinese New Year CSR initiative is part of Pavilion REIT Malls’ ongoing commitment to supporting vulnerable communities. The program focuses on hands-on engagement and providing practical care.

The initiative was held over two days during the festive period. It brought together teams from Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Pavilion Bukit Jalil, and Intermark Mall. They worked hand-in-hand at Rumah Kasih (Kuala Lumpur) and JJ Blessing Care Centre (OUG).

Improving Living Spaces

Volunteers carried out repair and refurbishment work and repainted common areas. They also cleaned and reorganised living spaces and donated essential home appliances.

These efforts created a more comfortable, refreshed, and dignified environment for the residents.

Beyond physical improvements, Pavilion REIT Malls employees spent meaningful time engaging with the elderly through shared meals, conversations and a festive yee sang toss, fostering moments of warmth, laughter and genuine connection.

Generous Contributions from Partner Malls

Parkson (Pavilion Bukit Jalil) contributed home appliances, Watsons (Pavilion Kuala Lumpur) provided drinks, and Leaf’s Mark (Intermark Mall) supplied lunch meals.

“Chinese New Year is a time of renewal, gratitude and togetherness. At Pavilion REIT Malls, we believe it is important to extend these values beyond our malls and into the communities around us. Through this initiative, our teams were able to improve living environments while sharing meaningful moments with the residents, reflecting our commitment to community care and social responsibility,” said Dato’ Philip Ho, Chief Executive Officer of Pavilion REIT Management Sdn. Bhd.

What sets this initiative apart is the cross-functional collaboration between Pavilion REIT’s Marketing and Operations teams, who worked side by side to deliver not just donations, but tangible upgrades and personal engagement.

Rather than a one-off contribution, the programme emphasised hands-on involvement, shared experiences and meaningful human connection.

This initiative forms part of Pavilion REIT’s broader ESG commitment under the Social and Good Health & Well-Being pillars reinforcing the Group’s belief that meaningful placemaking extends beyond retail spaces and into the communities it serves.
