Gardenia Spreads Ramadan Kindness, Supports 50 Families and Donates 138,500 Loaves to Mosques
This Ramadan, Gardenia Bakeries (KL) Sdn. Bhd. continues to extend its commitment to community wellbeing through the Cahaya Ramadan 2026 Programme, reinforcing its principle of “Always With You.”
Now in its sixth year, the programme has become a meaningful annual initiative aimed at supporting communities and strengthening the spirit of compassion during the holy month.
Since its introduction in 2021, Gardenia has distributed a total of 138,500 loaves of bread through various community engagement efforts. This year alone, 30,000 loaves of Gardenia Original Classic bread were delivered to 20 selected mosques across Peninsular Malaysia.
Adding to the festive spirit, each bread distribution was accompanied by limited-edition Raya envelopes for congregants, making the Ramadan experience even more special.
Gardenia Spreads Ramadan Kindness, Helping Families Prepare for Aidilfitri
Beyond food contributions, Gardenia also organised “Cahaya Ramadan Programme: A Day with Gardenia,” a community outreach initiative conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development.
The programme focused on supporting underprivileged families by providing them with the opportunity to prepare for Hari Raya according to their own needs and preferences.
Gardenia allocated RM25,000 in assistance to 50 families, allowing them to shop for their Aidilfitri essentials.
The one-day initiative took place on 11 March 2026 at Mydin Subang Jaya, where each family was accompanied by volunteers to ensure a smooth and comfortable shopping experience.
After completing their shopping, the families were invited to a breaking-of-fast event at ISTAC IIUM, where Gardenia also presented Raya monetary gifts as a token of appreciation ahead of Syawal.
Strengthening Community Compassion
Speaking about the initiative, Nancy Shukri, Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, praised the programme.
“This is truly the kind of compassion we hope to see from more corporations in this country, to work hand in hand with the government in ensuring the wellbeing of the community is always safeguarded.”
Meanwhile, Puan Ena Suhaila Abas, Senior Marketing Manager of Gardenia Bakeries (KL) Sdn. Bhd., emphasised that giving back is a core value of the company.
“At Gardenia, the spirit of giving is not seasonal. It is our ongoing approach to contributing to community wellbeing through social and community welfare initiatives.”
She added that the programme aims to ease the burden on families while creating meaningful moments that unite communities during Ramadan.
Through the Cahaya Ramadan Programme, Gardenia continues to deliver practical support while strengthening the values of compassion, gratitude, and togetherness that define the holy month.
