Huawei Malaysia has officially unveiled the HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro, its latest flagship smartphone that elevates mobile photography, durability, and intelligent performance.
Positioned as Huawei’s most advanced device yet, the Mate 80 Pro combines powerful imaging technology with a refined design and robust system capabilities.
Built around the brand’s “See it True” philosophy, the device is designed to capture every moment with remarkable authenticity, bringing out natural colours, textures, and details in every frame.
Alongside the smartphone launch, Huawei also introduced several new additions to its connected ecosystem, including the HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 5, HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate 2 in Green, and HUAWEI FreeClip 2 in Rose Gold, expanding Huawei’s lineup of devices designed to seamlessly connect productivity, entertainment and everyday lifestyle experiences.
A Triple-Camera System Built for Every Moment
At the heart of the Mate 80 Pro is an upgraded camera architecture built for precision across multiple focal lengths.
The smartphone features a versatile triple-camera system, including a 50MP Ultra Lighting Camera with a large 1/1.28-inch sensor, a 48MP Ultra Lighting Telephoto Macro Lens with 4× optical zoom, and a 40MP Ultra-Wide-Angle Camera.
Whether capturing sweeping landscapes or intricate close-up details, the system delivers impressive clarity across every shot.
Huawei also equips the device with its enhanced True-to-Colour Camera System, ensuring accurate colours and balanced tones in various lighting conditions, from bright outdoor scenes to dim indoor environments.
Photography gets even smarter with Huawei’s new AI features.
AI Composition provides real-time framing guidance by analysing subjects, lines, lighting and balance to suggest the ideal crop or zoom directly in the viewfinder. Even beginners can capture magazine-worthy shots effortlessly.
Other intelligent tools include AI Remove, which eliminates unwanted people or distractions in the background, and AI Best Expression, which automatically selects the best expressions from multiple shots to create the perfect group photo.
Built Tough with Signature Mate Design
Durability remains a key pillar of the Mate Series, and the Mate 80 Pro continues that legacy with several upgrades.
The device features 2nd Generation Kunlun Glass, reinforced with high-strength nanocrystals that offer drop and impact resistance up to 20 times stronger than conventional glass panels.
Huawei also pairs the glass with an ultra-durable vegan fibre back panel, delivering both resilience and a refined tactile finish.
The Mate 80 Pro carries IP68 water resistance for depths up to six metres and IP69 protection against high-temperature, high-pressure water jets.
To maintain peak performance, Huawei introduces its SuperCool Dual Phase Change Heat Dissipation System, which improves thermal conductivity efficiency by 16% and reduces temperature rise by 33%, helping prevent overheating during intensive use.
Design-wise, the device retains Huawei’s iconic Dual Space Ring Design, a symmetrical camera module that blends modern aesthetics with the Mate Series’ signature look.
The smartphone comes in Gold, Green and Black, inspired by natural elements.
Celebrating Malaysia Through the Lens
To mark the launch, Huawei Malaysia has partnered with Tourism Malaysia to introduce the “See, Truly Malaysia” photography campaign.
The initiative invites users to capture Malaysia’s heritage, landscapes and vibrant culture through the powerful imaging capabilities of the Mate 80 Pro, bringing the brand’s “See it True” promise to life.
Tourism Malaysia shared that the collaboration would help showcase the country’s beauty to global audiences while strengthening Malaysia’s visibility as a destination for culture and travel exploration.
Huawei also announced that the Huawei XMAGE Awards 2026 will run in Malaysia from 23 March to 16 August 2026.
Built on the theme “The Power of Image”, the competition encourages photographers to tell meaningful stories through everyday moments, highlighting Malaysia’s landscapes, vibrant colours and diverse communities.
Expanding the Huawei Smart Ecosystem
Beyond the flagship smartphone, Huawei also introduced several new smart devices designed to complement modern lifestyles.
The HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 5 brings advanced audio technology with a Dual-Driver Acoustic System that supports high-resolution lossless audio for deeper bass and clearer highs.
Priced at RM699, the earbuds come in Grey, White and Gold, and include one year of Loss Care protection worth RM59.
Meanwhile, the HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate 2 in Green continues Huawei’s premium outdoor smartwatch lineup.
In addition to its professional diving capabilities and rugged design, the new model introduces enhanced golf-focused features for smarter sports tracking.
The watch retails at RM3,999 and includes free gifts worth up to RM402, including two years of Huawei Care⁺ and three months of Huawei Health⁺ membership.
Completing the lineup is the HUAWEI FreeClip 2 in Rose Gold, which features Huawei’s signature open-ear design for all-day comfort. Built around its “Never Feel, Never Fall” wearing experience, the earbuds allow users to stay aware of their surroundings while enjoying music.
The device is priced at RM749 and is available for pre-order with a RM50 rebate and one year of Loss Care protection worth RM59.
