After 20 years of quietly building a whole aerial arts scene, Viva Vertical is finally going big. Viva Circus Festival 2026 is landing from 15–19 April at Petaling Jaya Performing Arts Centre and it’s not just a show, it’s a full-on experience.
From a small studio back in 2006 to now producing international-level performances, Viva Vertical is basically the OG of aerial in Malaysia. And this festival? It’s their “main character moment.”
Expect a mix of:
- gravity-defying performances
- trippy storytelling
- and yes, actual chances for you to try flying
- The headline act is “Alice Lost in Wonderland”, think Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland reimagined in the air, with over 60 performers flipping, spinning, and telling a story mid-air. Wild.
There’s also the VCFA 2026 awards, where local aerial and pole talents finally get their spotlight a big deal for a scene that’s been growing quietly for years.
But the coolest part?
You don’t just watch.
With the “Safe to Fly” zone, the public can actually try aerial moves themselves, safely, of course. So yeah, you can live your circus fantasy, no experience needed.
The vibe here isn’t just fitness. It’s transformation. Confidence. Expression.
Basically: less gym, more main character energy.
And with names like Dr. Soo Wincci and international champ Kayleen Ortiz in the mix, this isn’t some small-scale event, it’s Malaysia’s aerial arts scene stepping into the spotlight.
